Jeannette Kooistra, 72, a long-time Newton business woman, died Friday evening, August 21, 1992, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reese Chapel in Newton. The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church conducted the services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are two daughters, Jill Cherrington of Burlington, North Carolina and Ann Moore of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Skow.
The daughter of Walter and Virginia Harper, she was born May 29, 1920, in Rhodes.
Mrs. Kooistra owned and operated Mid-Iowa Motel and coin-operated Laundromats and was a member of the Elks Lodge.
