Warren Chris Taylor, 74, of Prairie City, a longtime Prairie City area resident, died of a heart ailment Thursday, July 16, 1992 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 20 at the Church of the Brethren south of Prairie City. The Rev. Tim Peters, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery at Prairie City. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in prairie City handled arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Eileen; two sons, Dean and Hugh, both of Prairie City; four grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Buckingham of Ankeny and Dorothy Kaplun of New York City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran of World War II. He was retired employee of Iowa Power and Light and had been a rural school teacher.
He was a member of the Preston Masonic Lodge and the Booth-De Vries American Legion Post, both of Prairie City.
The son of Albert and Gertrude Mertens Taylor, he was born July 21, 1917 in Swan. He was graduated from Swan High School in 1936. He attended Simpson College in Indianola.
He was married to Eileen Charls March 9, 1946 in Prairie City.
