Cornie Tukker, 78 of Pella, a former Otley resident, died Thursday, November 5, 1992 at Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 9 at the Pella First Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Smith, pastor of the church, conducted the service. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery at Pella. Pella Garden Chapel Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Memorials for Gaylord and Dorothy Carter, Baptist missionaries in western Australia, are being accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Florence; a son, Robert of Rockford, Illinois; three daughters, Twila, (Mrs. Don) Dop of Pella, Dorothy (Mrs. Gaylord) Carter of Kellerberrin, Western Australia, and Judy Forth of Iuka, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Also surviving are four sisters, Angeline Ryke of San Antonio, Texas, Freda Vander Hart of Prairie City, Elizabeth Wagner of Ankeny, and Catherine Holt of San Antonio, Texas; and a brother, Elmer Tukker of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Marie Davis and Gertrude Weyers.
Mr. Tukker had been employed by the Pella Co-Op, had owned and operated the Sinclair station in Pella, and had been an employee of Central College for 10 years.
He was a member of the Pella First Baptist Church and the Izaak Walton League.
The son of John and Anna Marinus Tukker, he was born January 18, 1914 in Otley and attended school in Otley.
He was married to Florence Bogaards January 30, 1940 in Pella. The couple had always lived in the Pella and Otley areas.
