Ernest Warrick, 74, of Prairie City, died Saturday, May 2, 1992 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of injuries sustained in an automobile-tractor accident near Prairie City Friday, may 1.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5 at the Monroe United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jerry McGee, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Memorials to the Monroe United Methodist Church or the Jasper County Agricultural Society are being accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Florence; three sons; Ronald of Gowrie, Robert of Prairie City, and John of Bondurant; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William.
Mr. Warrick was a farmer. He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, and the Jasper County Agricultural Society. He had been a 4-H leader, had served on the Jasper County Fair Board and had been active in state and national swine organizations.
The son of John and Elizabeth Sage Warrick, he was born November 2, 1917 in Colfax.
He was married to Florence Wagner June 19, 1940 in Monroe.
