Wagner, Mazie – 1906-1992

Mazie Elrod Wagner, 86, a life-long resident of the Monroe-Prairie City communities, died Sunday, August 23, 1992, at Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 26 at the Monroe United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Merrill, pastor of the church conducted the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Wilmer) Van Wyk of Monroe, five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Jarnagin of Madison, Wisconsin, and a brother, W. C. Elrod of Prairie City.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; a son, Harold and a brother, Carl Elrod.
The daughter of William and Henrietta Berkenbosch Elrod, she was born March 17, 1906 near Prairie City.
She was a 1924 graduate of Monroe Community High School.
She was married to Ernest Wagner February 21, 1933 in Lancaster, Missouri.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Monroe Women’s Club and TMTM.
Memorials to the church are being accepted.
