Welch, Hattie Belle – 1892-1992

Hattie Belle Welch, 99, a former resident of the Ira, Mingo and Colfax communities and most recently of Clearview Manor in Prairie City, died Friday, August 21, 1992, at the manor.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 24, at the Colfax United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, William and Myrtle of Newton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Charles Brisel of Baxter, Donna and Wade Cross of Baxter and Eleanor and Charles Lewis of Colfax; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verna (Mrs. Ray) Colton of Redding, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters and three grandchildren.
The daughter of William and Sarah Seaten Mills, she was born October 29, 1892 in Camden County, Missouri.
She was married to William Robert Welch on March 16, 1910 in Missouri and moved to Jasper County in 1920.
