Ray M. Whitacre, 88, of Newton died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A memorial service for Ray will take place at a later date. Memorials in Ray’s name can be made to the B.F. Carroll Chapter of the Izaak Walton League in Bloomfied.
The son of Charles Newton and Ada (White) Whitacre, Ray was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Lancaster, Mo. Those left to honor Ray’s memory include his son, James M. Whitacre (Linda Warner) of Newton, Iowa; his daughter, Betty Wooldridge of Lambs Grove, Iowa; two granddaughters, Kristi Wooldridge of Newton and Jill Rausch (Patrick Lynch) of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandsons, John Whitacre (Niki) of Newton and Brian Wooldridge (Minnie) of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four great-granddaughters, Kylee Woody of Monroe, Iowa, Morgan Woody of Newton, Sydney Wooldridge of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Ivy Ann Whitacre of Newton; a great-grandson, Jacob Wooldridge of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a great-great-grandson, Dakota Winkleman of Monroe; soon-to-be-born great-great granddaughter, Quincee Jo Woody; a sister LuBelle (Lowell) Spurgeon of Bloomfield; and many nephews and nieces.
