OSKALOOSA, IA. - John Winegardner, 82, of Oskaloosa died of cancer Friday at Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Newman Funeral Chapel, and burial will be in Forest Cemetery.

Born in Mashaska County, Mr. Winegardner farmed in the Rose Hill area before moving to Oskaloosa in 1986. He was a member of Knights of Pythias, Eagles and Moose lodges.

Survivors include his wife, Enid; two daughters, Marjorie Thomas of What Cheer and Geraldine Fisher of Oskaloosa; three stepdaughters, Marilyn Schwabe and Diana Chance, both of Newton, and Marsha Holderness of Independence, Mo.; four sister, Blanche Simpkins, and Helen Allgood, both of Oskaloosa, Lydia Sarver of Beacon and Nell Kides of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m.today at Newman Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. ~ The Des Moines Register date unknown possibly April 1990
