The funeral services of Mrs. Rosanna B. McElroy, the wife of Hugh McElroy Esq. Takes place today from the Wittemberg Congregational church, at 11 o’clock a.m. Mrs. McElroy was in town on Monday, and seemed to be unusually well and cheerful. On the way home she was taken with paralysis, and died Monday night. The home of Mr. and Mrs. McElroy is about half a mile north-west of the Wittemberg church. They have been married for about 12 years. Mrs. McElroy formerly lived in Newton and her former husband, C. D. Wright, was buried in the city cemetery, where the body of Mrs. McElroy will be laid today, the 40th anniversary of her marriage to Mr. Wright. She was 61 years old, last June. By her former marriage, she had four children, three of whom are now living; Arthur J. Wright, our highly esteemed fellow townsman, Silas M. Wright, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Mrs. Addie A. Corbet, of Des Moines. The surviving husband and the children, have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. Mrs. McElroy was an example of a Christian woman of unceasing fidelity. Anything she saw to be duty, she never neglected. She has lived so as to be among those to whom the Master will say: “Well done good and faithful servant.” She was formerly a member of the Congregational church in Newton, and has been a member of the Wittemberg church since her marriage to Mr. McElroy. Rev. J. J. Mitchell, her former pastor, preaches her funeral sermon. He and Mrs. Mitchell came from Chester Center yesterday in order to attend the funeral
