John P. Hay died at his home in Clear Creek township, Jasper county, Iowa, Feb. 7th, 1894. He was born in Pennsylvania October 22, 1813. Was married to Rosa Anna Lint, by whom he had eight children, six of whom are living. Came to Jasper County in 1857. He was an attentive member of the Brethren church for a number of years. Funeral services were held at the house, conducted by Rev. Goughnour, and the remains were laid to rest in the Green Valley cemetery. – Collins Clipper
