Hold Rites for G. E. Brodersen Friday Afternoon
Reasnor, March 27 – Special to the Daily News – Funeral rites for George E. Brodersen, 45, were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Palo Alto United Presbyterian church by Rev. W. G. Weber of the Lutheran church at Kellogg. Interment was in the Palo Alto cemetery.
Music for the services was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Myrtle Graffis, Mrs. Julia Brodersen, Clarence Tool and George Tool, with Mrs. Lily Guthrie as accompanist.
Those serving as pallbearers were Pat Metcalf, Harold Winn, C. E. Kirkpatrick, J. B. Wasson, Heywood Jones and Jack Carden.
Mr. Brodersen was born May 20, 1887, and took his own life Wednesday morning, March 22, at his farm home seven miles southeast of Newton. The cause of the act was attributed to worry over financial troubles.
Mr. Brodersen was united in marriage to Miss Naomi Carden of Manchester, Tenn., on June 20, 1928, and to this union one son, George, Jr., was born.
Besides his widow and child, he was survived by three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Preston of Reasnor, Mrs. Tillie Talbot, of near Newton and Mrs. Anna Reese of near Reasnor and one brother, Ray Brodersen of near Reasnor. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mrs. Frank Reese and a brother, John.
