Jon M.W. Schrader, 49, of Random Lake, Wis., passed away Oct. 11, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on March 29, 1961 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Sherry Callahan Schrader and the late Rodger Schrader. Jon attended and graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Iowa. He also attended a Technical College in Ankeny, Iowa, majoring in Tool and Die making. He served in the United States Army from 1982-1986. Jon married Judith Meyer in Baxter, Iowa.
He was a tool and die maker for many companies, one being Fire Chief Company in Belgium, Wis., and also worked as an auto mechanic owning his own shop. Jon was a Boy Scout when he was little and was a Sea-Explorer. He loved all sports in high school and excelled in track and field. He also loved to snow ski, snowmobiling, fishing, playing softball and was an avid Packer fan. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his kids.
Donna and Jon exchanged their commitment of love to each other in January of 2010.
Survivors include: His loving companion of nine years, Donna Paape of Random Lake; his children, Christopher Schrader of Cedar Grove, Jonathan Schrader of Fort Carson, Colo., Jacquelyn Schrader of Cedar Grove, Joslynn Kaster of Des Moines, Iowa; step children, Ashley (Richard) Miller of Cascade, Bryan Paape of Random Lake, Three step grandchildren: Preston, Sierra and Paige; his mother, Sherry Schrader Braunschweig (Husband: Larry Braunschweig) of Oconomowoc, two sisters: Tina (Larry) Berte of New Berlin, Keely (Andy) Vassar of Murfreesboro, Tenn., his grandfather: Howard Schrader of Newton, Iowa and his canine friend, Shelby.
He also is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodger Schrader and his grandparents, Wilma Schrader and Rosalee and John Callahan.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, at noon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adel. The Rev. Christopher Seifferlein, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will take place following the services at church.
Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of services.
