Services held for Frank Green

Funeral services for Frank Green, 89, a long time resident of the Prairie City community, were held Sunday, October 20 at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. He died Thursday, October 17 at Clearview Manor.

The Rev. LaVerne Gonnerman, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City, conducted the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Survivors are two sons, Melvin and John, both of Prairie City; a daughter, Elise Mendenhall of Nashua, New Hampshire; a brother, Harley of Newton; a sister, Odetha Tawney of Paris, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, the former Louise Pulver, a daughter, a son, and two brothers.

He was a member of the Prairie City American Legion Post.

Mr. Green, an Army veteran of World War I, had been a farmer and employee of Prairie City Feed Mill.

The son of John and Ella Tidball Green, he was born August 1, 1896 in Sandyville. ~ The Prairie City News, Oct. 24, 1985
