The funeral of Robert Walker took place yesterday afternoon from the U. P. church at Wild Cat Grove. Deceased was 71 years old the 10th day of last January. He was born in Yorkshire, England. In 1853 he emigrated to Pennsylvania, where he lived till 1856, when he moved to Michigan. He came to Iowa in 1869 and has lived in Palo Alto township, Jasper County, since then until his death, which took place at his home at 3:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 14th, 1894. He was married in __ and his faithful wife survives him and enjoys good health. He was in good health until a few weeks ago, when seized with the la grippe, which brought complications of lung trouble, ending in his death. Mr. and Mrs. Walker were the parents of four children, Thomas, the oldest, lives at
Glenwood Springs, Colo; John lives in Indian Territory; Mrs. Henny lives in Colorado; William, the youngest son, made his home with his parents. The funeral services were largely attended by friends and neighbors and were conducted by Rev. C. C. Harrah. Deceased lived an upright life, was a good neighbor, a loving husband and a kind father. His death is greatly regretted by all who knew him.
