SERVICES HELD FOR MAE I. PAUL

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at 10 a.m. for Mrs. A. Burton (Mae I.) Paul, 73, of rural Kellogg.

Mrs. Paul, a lifetime resident of Jasper County, died at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton Sunday, June 25.

Services were held at the Newton United Congregational Church of Christ. The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church in Newton, conducted the rites.

Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carroll Anderson, Clarence Kingery, Roy Moore, Keith Stuart, Paul Van Maaren, and Marion Verwers.

Survivors include her husband; seven sons, Wayne of Orem, Utah, Norman of Hood River, Ore., Dale of Long Branch, N.J., Dennis of Chicago, Ill., James of Newton, Curtis of Algona, and Keith of St. Louis, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Doris) Thorson of Grinnell, Phyllis Anderson of New York, N.Y., Mrs. Earnest (Helen) Hoffa of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Bill (Carol) Skoog of Altoona; and 22 grandchildren.

Other survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Mary Eggert of Marshalltown, Mrs. George (Ethel) Hans of Grinnell, and Mrs. Delia Anderson of Newton; and a brother, L.W. Anderson of Kellogg.

Mrs. Paul was born May 15, 1899, in Kellogg, the daughter of Hans P. and Karma Anderson. She was married to A. Burton Paul Jan. 2, 1922, in Kellogg.

She was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church and the Amboy Janeway Club.

Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society and the Heart Fund will be accepted.
