SHARP – Died near Newton, Iowa, Nov. 30, 1878, Willie Melville, youngest son of Adam and Isa Sharp, aged three years, 10 mos, and 19 days.
Now they’ve laid our little darling like a rosebud in the tomb,
Should we mourn though much we love him, that this bud in Heaven may bloom.
Little Willie, much loved treasure, light and joy he brought our home,
But the Savior took him from us, early he recalled His own.
And though here our hand is broken, though we miss his smiling face,
Would we call him back from Heaven, from that pure and holy place.
No, but rather we would meet him, when our work on earth is don,
Meet and ever love our Savior, in a blessed Heavenly home.
