Eddie Lester Dies April 23rd

Eddie Lester, 58, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Sunday, April 23, at the Jasper County Care Facility southeast of Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27 (today) at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in the Slaughter Cemetery near Colfax.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Ethel Lester of the Jasper County Care Facility; a brother, Richard of Colfax; and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Emma) Hanawalt of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Lester had been employed at the Colfax Elevator.

The son of William and Ethel Jenkins Lester, he was born January 6, 1920, in Jasper County. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa, Thursday April 27, 1978
