HAMPTON-Kenneth Bernard Freie, 88, of Hampton died Monday, July 8, 2002, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center at Mason City. Services will be held Thursday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Rev. Jon Anderson will officiate.

Kenneth was born Jan. 23, 1914, at Hampton to William and Hermena Mahncke Freie. He was educated in country schools and on April 9, 1941, he married Idella Schmidt at Hampton. He was a farmer and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed farming.

He is survived by his wife, Idella, of Hampton; three sons, Darwin and Norlin, both of Hampton and Darrel of Mason City; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
