ELDORA-Ann Steinfeldt, 89, of Eldora, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Valley View Nursing Center in Eldora. Services will be Monday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with burial in East Lawn Memory Garden, Eldora. Pastor David Splett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
Ann was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Eldora to William and Hermoine Daleske Balvanz. She attended Goose Creek rural school near Eldora. On March 18, 1936, she married Harold Steinfeldt at St. Paul Lutheran parsonage and made their home in Eldora. Ann was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and member of Dorothy's Senior Center where she played in the Senior's Kitchen Band. She enjoyed playing the piano and accordion, and gardening was her hobby.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen McDonald of Greenfield; four sons, Lyle of St. Paul, Minn., Merle of Eldora, Ron and wife Helen of Marion, and Harris and wife Carole of Hubbard; a brother, Fred Balvanz, of Fall Brook, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; a grandson, Kevin Wheeler; a sister, Agnes Steinfeldt; and a brother, Otto Balvanz.
Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
