PHOENIX, Ariz.-Marvin (Buck) Hays DeBaun, 77, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Tuesday, May 28, 2002. Graveside rites were held Saturday, June 1, at Phoenix Memorial Park.
Marvin was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Keefer, Okla., to Robert and Ophelia Bowker DeBaun. He graduated from Orlando High School in Orlando, Okla., and served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific campaign. On Nov. 13, 1965, he married Della Dougan, formerly of this area. He worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma, for the Sante Fe Railroad and was a cross-country truck driver for 22 years relocating to Phoenix from Buckeye in 1969. Buck was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church and American Legion Post No. 107, both in Phoenix.
He is survived by his wife, Della; five sons, Robert and wife Karen, Johnny and wife Lynn, David and wife Wanda, Danny and wife Nancy, and Doug; four daughters, Deloris Palmer and husband Paul, Diane Inostroza and husband Frank, Donna Williamson and husband Robert, and Denise Biro and husband Lou; his mother-in-law, Esther Dougan, of Iowa Falls; two brothers-in-law, Boyd Poovey and Russell Dougan and his wife, Rhoda, of Iowa Falls; 27 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, three sisters; and a daughter, Roberta Jo.
