MARSHALLTOWN-Hazel Dell Kreitlow, 89, of Marshalltown, formerly of Webster City, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Services will be held Wednesday, May 29 at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Williams Cemetery. Rev. Larry Kelly will officiate.
Hazel was born June 14, 1912, at Springhill to Admiral Maury and Maude Kime Weeks. She attended and graduated from Springhill Community Schools in 1930. On Aug. 22, 1936, she married Glen Dietz and they had three children. They were later divorced and she married Russell Kreitlow on May 25, 1957. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Eastern Star in Webster City, American Legion Auxiliary and Williams Thursday Tea Club. Hazel was a cafeteria cook and Avon lady. She enjoyed reading, crafts, gardening and shoveling snow.
She is survived by three daughters, Gwen Cox of Cypress, Texas, Bea Abbas and husband, Ronald, of Alden, Alyse Joswiak and husband, David, of Marshalltown; a stepdaughter Sandra Fouquette and husband, Gerald, of Foley, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Maury Weeks of Cedar Rapids and Leland Weeks of Montclair, Calif.; and two sisters, Lily Foust of Garden Grove and Eva Howell of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; four sisters, Vivian Rouse, Helen Anderson, Virginia Nelson and Ruth Pritchett; and four brothers, William, Leonard, Fred and Robert Weeks.
Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
