GRUNDY CENTER-Deloris E. Albright, 87, of Grundy Center, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Grundy Care Center. Services were held Tuesday, May 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Pastor Daniel Graham officiated.
Deloris was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Grundy Center to Joseph and Mildred Pence Albright. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1932. After graduation she was employed by the Grundy Center Register newspaper where she worked her entire working career. She retired in the early 1980s. She lived in Grundy Center all her life and wrote a book that compiled Grundy Center history. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served in many positions. She enjoyed traveling and bowling in the league in Grundy Center.
She is survived by a sister Marvel Diehl of Cedar Falls; two nieces, Sharon Smith of Waterloo, and Linda VanHeiden of Iowa Falls; two great-nieces, Jane Kugel and husband, Ken, of Iowa Falls, and Amy Davis and husband, Kevin, of Glendale, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Edgar Albright.
Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of arrangements.
