SAC CITY-William F. Terveer, 62, of Sac City, formerly of Alden, died May 8, 2002, of an apparent heart attack at his home in Sac City. Services were held Monday, May 13 at the First Christian Church in Sac City with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City. Rev. Ben Meeks officiated.
Bill was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Iowa City to William and Arlene Akers Terveer. He graduated from Alden High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Navy the same year. On Dec. 9, 1961, he married Lynette Rahfeldt and they were later divorced. On Aug. 6, 1994, he married Donna Dettman and they lived in Sac City. They operated the Double Heart Enterprise Trucking firm from 1995-98. They also spent time woodworking and selling from their home. He was a member of the Sac City American Legion and V.F.W. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and playing softball.
He is survived by three daughters, Robin Tuttle and husband, Kevin, Jeanette Ferrari and husband, Mike, and Teresa Howard and husband, Phil; five stepchildren; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Gene Wiley; a sister, Mary Ann Nassen; two brothers; and two infant grandchildren.
