LATIMER-Margo Jayne Hoyer, 64, of Latimer, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, on the family farm near Latimer. Services were held Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer with burial in Marion Center Cemetery near Latimer. Rev. Jeff Long officiated.

Margo was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Hampton, to Anton and Dorothy McKee Rother. She was raised by her father on a farm near Alexander and graduated from Alexander High School in 1955. She graduated from Hamilton Business College in Mason City in 1956. On Oct. 18, 1957, Margo married Merlin Hoyer at the Hampton Congregational Church. and they made their home on a farm near Latimer. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer where she had served as deacon, elder, president of the board, taught Sunday school and Bible school, sang in the choir and was a member of Philathea. Margo was a member of the Franklin County Hospital Auxiliary and was a 4-H leader for several years. She had a great zest for life and enjoyed being outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Merlin; a son, Mitchell and his wife, Sherilyn, of Humboldt; a daughter, Shereen Brock and husband, Paul, of Bozeman, Mont.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hoyer of Humboldt, and Brandee and Randon Brock of Baseman; a brother, John Rother and his wife, Carolyn, of Alexander; a niece, Suzzanne Strong of Ames; and a nephew, Curtis Rother of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Willim Funeral Home of Latimer was in charge of arrangements.
