SHEFFIELD-Carroll L. Blanchard, 68, of Sheffield, died April 15, 2002, at Muse Norris Hospice Unit at Mason City. Services were held Thursday, April 18, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, with burial in Maynes Grove Cemetery, rural Bradford. Rev. Randy Crane officiated.
Carroll was born Sept. 8, 1933, at Sheffield, to Howard and Wava Culver Blanchard. He graduated from Sheffield High School and North Iowa Community College in Mason City. He served in the Army and Navy in 1963-66. On July 22, 1960, he married Rose DeHolt in Bradford. Carroll was employed as a welder for Sukup Manufacturing in Sheffield. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Sheffield; two sons, Darren, of Sheffield, and Michael of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Aileen Blanchard of Sheffield, and Marlene Schinnow, of Mason City; a sister, Berleen Sutter of St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
