From Jewell Record October 7, 1909 (page 1)

Death Claims Ole T. Olson

At about three o'clock Tuesday morning, October 5, death came to Mr. Ole T. Olson, a prominent farmer of the vicinity, at his home from two and a half miles northwest of town. Mr. Olson was quite an aged man, 72 years old last March, and for some time he has been in very poor health, gradually failing until the last when in the weakness of old age death claimed him.

Mr. Olson is survived by his wife and two sons, James and Clarence, and a daughter, Miss Bertha all of whom reside at home. A sister, Mrs. Bertha Westre of Jewell, and two brothers, John T. Olson, of Wellsville, Mo., and Thomas Westre, of Summit S. Dak., also survive him. The brothers were at once notified of Mr. Olson's death, and are here to attend the funeral services. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, at twelve thirty o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from the Norwegian Lutheran church at Jewell. The body will be interred in Evergreen cemetery.

The friends and neighbors in the vicinity all join with the Record in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones in their loss.
