After but a brief illness death came quietly and peacefully to Mrs. Gudall early last Friday morning, May 10, at the home northwest of town. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Norwegian Lutheran church, Rev. Eastvold officiating, and the remains were interred in Evergreen cemetery.
Miss Ingeborg Helgeson was born in Kvinherred, Norway, October 18, 1925 [sic], and was married in Norway to Hans P. Gudall. In 1865 with her husband she came to America, locating in Clinton county, Iowa. Seven years later they moved to Story county where they resided nine years. They then removed to Hamilton county locating on the farm one mile west and a half mile north of Jewell. There they have resided 17 years, and there surrounded by the friends and neighbors of years, Mrs. Gudall passed away at the advanced age of 81 years, 6 months and 22 days. Hers had been a long useful life. Until last fall she had enjoyed the very best of health, but after an illness then she did not recover her former vigor, and after a few days sickness she succumbed to the weakness of advance age.
Mrs. Gudall is survived by her husband and five children. One daughter preceded her to the great beyond. The surviving children are: Oliver, of Martin county, Minn., Henry of Noble county, Minn., Mrs. Mary Jacobson, of Jewell, Peter, residing southwest of town, and Hans, residing on the home farm. To the sorrowing family everyone in the community extends their sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
