Mrs. O. C. Templar. [sic]

Elizabeth French was born in Schenectady county, New York, November 12, 1844. She was married to James Pinckney and to this union was born one son, Edwin. Her husband died during the time of the civil war, and in 1866 she was married to Oliver S. Pinckney. Mr. Templar [sic] removed with his bride to Hardin county, Iowa, and in 1868 came to Hamilton county, locating on the farm four and a half miles south-east of Jewell. Here the deceased made her home until only a year ago. In June, 1905, her husband died, and in the spring of 1906 she removed to Jewell where she resided until her death, August 19, 1907, at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 7 days.

Mrs. Templar [sic] in her nearly forty years of live in Hamilton county experienced all the trials and hardships of pioneer life as well as the joys and successes attendant upon the efforts of the industrious pioneer. Long a resident in the community her acquaintance was large and in all who knew her she had a friend who mourns her loss respects her memory. In 1889 Mrs. Templar [sic] united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Jewell, and until death remained a true and loyal and consistent believer in her faith. She died secure in the knowledge of a life of well-spent years and her worth is preserved in the memory of her children and of hosts of friends.

Surviving Mrs. Templar [sic] are her children, Edwin Pinckney, of Brooton, Minn., Wm. T. of Jewell, George, of Jewell, Lottie, of Jewell, and Mrs. Cora Anderson of Emmetsburg, besides a number of grand children.
