Bonnie Sue Gloeckner, 67, of 2940 Muscatine St., Dubuque, died at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home in Dubuque. Our wife, mother, grammy and sister put her hand in the Lord's as He lead her through the pearly gates of heaven.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid, Iowa, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Placid. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Sept. 23, 1942, in Leon, daughter of Clarence and Sarah (Akes) Butcher. She received her education in the Leon area schools.

She married Allen Gloeckner on June 11, 1966, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Epworth.

She was an antiques dealer in the Dubuque and Waterloo area for 25 years.

Bonnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She referred to her three granddaughters as her three angels. Bonnie wrote more than 1,400 songs and poems, 25 of which were professionally recorded. She also had a book of poems published, which was entitled "Journeys From The Heart." She loved history, especially the Civil War period. She was a political enthusiast, a true Cubs fan and an avid country music fan. She enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, Scout and Plato. Bonnie had a deep spiritual connection with the Lord and reverence for the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was a faithful viewer of EWTN. Bonnie's eyes never saw color, race or religion, but instead, the beauty of the soul.

Surviving are her husband, Allen Gloeckner, of Dubuque; three children, Pamela (James) Engelken and John (Jennifer) Gloeckner, both of Dubuque, and Steve (Thais Carnall ) Gloeckner, of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jessa and Lindsey; six siblings, Mary Lou Palmer, of Iowa Falls, James (Norma) Butcher, of Farley, Jack (Joan) Butcher, of Monticello, Patty Feller, of Asbury, Charles (Pamela) Butcher, of Dubuque, and Debra Osterkamp, of Jesup; and a dear, best friend, Sharon Mueller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Paul Feller.
