Kenneth R. Pancratz, 76, of 1520 Kehl Court, formerly of Zwingle, died at 12:21 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2000, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Church, Sylvia Switch, Zwingle, with burial in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Leonard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Pancratz farmed in the Zwingle area all of his life.

He was born on July 31, 1923, in Zwingle, son of Leo and Elizabeth (Boyer) Pancratz. He married Monica E. Donahue on Oct. 8, 1947, at Assumption Church, Sylvia Switch.

He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a trustee for Washington Township and a member of the La Motte Knights of Columbus Council 4236, the Guernsey Breeders Association, and the Table Mound, Garryowen, and Zwingle Senior Citizens.

Surviving are his wife, Monica Pancratz, of Dubuque; three sons, James Pancratz (and friend, Jeanne Ambrosy), of Dubuque, Michael Pancratz, of Zwingle, and Thomas "Katie" Pancratz, of Eldridge, Iowa; two daughters, Lois Pancratz, of Dubuque, and Carol (Ron) Althoff, of La Motte; seven grandchildren, Marty, Greg, Scott, and B.J. Althoff, Adam Saunders, and Cody and Joe Pancratz; a great-grandchild, Ryan Althoff; two brothers, Charles Pancratz and Leroy (Inez) Pancratz, both of Dubuque; and four sisters, Elizabeth (Sylvester) Ambrosy and Bernice (Henry) Schuster, both of Zwingle, Vivian (John) Hingtgen, of Kieler, Wis., and Lillian (Karl) Kies, of La Motte.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Thole and Marcella Pancratz.
