Constance "Connie" Kutsch, 75, of 715 Lincoln Ave., died peacefully Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at home surrounded by her devoted husband and children, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a prayer service at 6 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1931, in Louisburg, Wis., daughter of Clement and Theresa Puls. She married Charlie Kutsch on Aug. 4, 1956. Connie and Charlie recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary amid their loving family and many friends.

Connie was a homemaker.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Connie's gentle spirit lives on in her loving family and in all whose lives she touched.

She was a member of St. Mary's parish.

Connie leaves behind, her beloved husband, Charles; seven adoring children, Terri Kutsch, of Iowa City, Linda (Pete) Behnke, Charles Jr. (Cindy) Kutsch, and Alan Kutsch, all of Dubuque, Thomas (Karen) Kutsch, of Urbandale, Patti (Eric) Upmeyer, of Vinton, and Kevin Kutsch of Waukee; and her dear grandchildren, Eric, Kelly, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Megan, Nicholas, Allison, Matthew, Connie, Lauren and Ashley. She also leaves behind her sister, Sister Joan Puls, OSF, of Milwaukee; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edmund, Roman and Odo Puls; four sisters, Leota "Mickey" Frick, Quinta "Peg" Jestice, Elma "Boots" Skemp and Sister Alphonsa Puls OSF.
