Eldon J. Kutsch, 86, formerly of Dubuque, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Resurrection Catholic Church, with the Rev. Eugene Kutsch and the Rev. Paul McManus officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque American Legion Post 6. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 6:30 a.m.

Eldon was born on March 3, 1927, in Dubuque, son of George M. and Ella (Berg) Kutsch. He graduated from the former Loras Academy and was employed as a machine operator at The Adams Company, both in Dubuque. He also played guitar in a country and western band.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of Resurrection Parish.

Surviving are two sisters, Ruth (Jerome) Urbain, of Epworth, Iowa, and Ethel Spautz, of Wilmington, Del.; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Kutsch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rose Kueter and Janet Heitzman; and two brothers, Robert and George Kutsch.
