Kellie Jo Kutsch, 27, of 2342 Cherry St., died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at home after a courageous 21/2 year battle with a brain tumor. She resided with Gen Ginter, her close and dear friend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.

She was born on April 27, 1971, in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph L. and Mary Clare (Cowan) Kutsch.

She was a 1989 graduate of Hempstead High School and most recently was employed at the West Dubuque Tap.

Kellie loved her family and many friends, her cats, Sam and Joey, camping, fishing, movies, her Madonna collection, and working with the Dubuque Riverfest and Catfish festivals. Kellie fought cancer with amazing strength and determination.

Surviving are her parents, Joseph L. and Mary Clare (Cowan) Kutsch; three sisters, Karen (Dale) Kleinschrodt, Laura Kutsch and Julie (Tom) Burke; a nephew, Dan Kleinschrodt; a niece, Ashley Kleinschrodt; a nephew and godson, Ben Burke; Gen Ginter, and the Donna Ginter family.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Genevieve Cowan; and her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Louise Kutsch.

A Kellie Jo Kutsch Memorial Fund has been established.

Kellie's family would like to express their gratitude for the love, kindness, and compassion of the Ginter family, and all of Kellie's friends and relatives during her illness. A special thank you to all of Kellie's doctors in Dubuque and Iowa City, the staff of Finley and Mercy hospitals and Hospice of Dubuque for their wonderful care and support. Thanks Kate.
