CLINTON, Iowa - Susan A. Kutsch, 56, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Podhajsky officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Assumption Cemetery, Sylvia Switch.

She was born on May 15, 1957, in Dubuque, daughter of Edward and Irma (Knabel) Kutsch.

She worked as a machine operator for Custom Pack in Clinton for 35 years.

Susan was an avid Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed reading Stephen King books and collected salt and pepper shakers.

She is survived by her son, Andre Kutsch, of Clinton; two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Kutsch, of Zwingle, and Karen (Norman) Knockel, of Bernard, Iowa; a nephew and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Madonna Kutsch and Eugene Kutsch.

In lieu of flowers, a Susan Kutsch Memorial Fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank all the health care professionals, especially the doctors, nurses and staff of Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, and also her friends and co-workers at Custom Pack in Clinton for all their wonderful care, kindness and friendship.
