Mrs. George "Elinor" (Gorman) Kutsch 1922-2005

Elinor (Mrs. George) Kutsch, 82, of 2568 Jackson St., died at 3:25 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, in Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 5:30 p.m.

Mrs. Kutsch had formerly worked at the H.B. Glover Co., Flexsteel Industries, Inc. and Todd's Catering.

She was born on July 28, 1922, in Dubuque, daughter of Thomas and Lillian Marie (Sandt) Gorman. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Regina Marie Sandt.

She married George Kutsch in February 1941 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque. They enjoyed 55 happy years together, until his death on July 4, 1996.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.

She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, reading, television, movies, traveling and dancing.

Elinor's family was very important to her, and it showed in the way she lived her life. Her greatest joy was time shared with them.

She was very generous and caring. She was considered "Mom" to many who knew her, and with an open heart, made everyone feel welcome.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Barbara A. Trierweiler, of Galena, Ill.; seven sons, James R. Kutsch, of Moline, Ill., Thomas E. (Bobi) Kutsch, of Scotts Valley, Calif., David F. Kutsch, of Pleasant Grove, Ala., Richard G. Kutsch and Patrick G. (Dorothy Schroeder) Kutsch, both of Dubuque, Michael J. (Lynn) Kutsch, of Attleboro, Mass., and Robert R. (Brenda) Kutsch, of Soquel, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, Steve and Sarah, Jim, Wendy and Shellie, Patrick and Amy, David and Jeremy, Lori, Kristi and Michael Jr. and Codi; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bailey, Zachary and Aaron; a brother, Thomas (Lucy) Gorman, of Sierra Madre, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Gorman, of Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hemingway; and a brother, Francis Gorman.

An Elinor Kutsch Memorial Fund has been established.
