FARLEY, Iowa - Austen L. Kutsch, 18, of Farley, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from a congenital heart condition known as Epstein's Anomoly.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at

St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.

Austen was born on Feb. 13, 1994, in Dyersville, son of Brian and Karen (Meyer) Kutsch. He recently graduated from Beckman Catholic High School with the class of 2012.

He worked at EIMCO in Farley. He was an optimistic member of the Beckman wrestling team these last four years.

Austen was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. His plans were to attend Ellsworth Community College to earn a degree in conservation technology.

Surviving are his parents, Brian and Karen Kutsch; siblings, Logan and Kendra Kutsch; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Meyer, of Dyersville; paternal grandmother, Stella Kutsch, of Sherrill; aunts and uncles, Terry (Vicki) Meyer, Duane (Kari) Meyer, Diane (Doug) Biddick, Darrell Kutsch, Suzie Kutsch, Carol (Michael) Raben; cousins, Dan (fiance, Samantha Trumm) Meyer, Mike (special friend, Ashley Zehme), Jennifer (Kyle) Jungk, Matthew Latham, Megan, Elly, Drew, Levi, Jude Meyer, Troy Biddick, Ashley (Tony) Wiederholt, Waylon (Lynn) Jaeger, Jessika Jaeger and Jonathan Kutsch.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Loras Meyer, and paternal grandfather, James Kutsch.
