ZWINGLE, Iowa - Thomas S. Canavan, 73, of Sterling, Mich., formerly of Sylvia Switch, rural Zwingle, died Monday, March 18, 1996, at Sterling.

The body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church, Sylvia Switch, rural Zwingle, with the Rev. Mark R. Nemmers officiating.

Mr. Canavan was a former manager of G.O.V.C.O. Shoe Store, Indianapolis.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1923, in Iowa.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas and Kenneth Canavan, both of Indiana, and Steven in the Navy; and two daughters, Cynthia Sergeant and Catherine Brower, both of Michigan.
