Cecil M. Arnold, 88, of Stonehill Care Center, was mercifully released from her long struggle with Alzheimers disease at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Stonehill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Mueller Memorial Chapel at Linwood Cemetery, where friends may call after 10:30 to a.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arnold worked as a clerk in area department stores, including Stampfers ad Rosheks.

She was born on March 14, 1911, in Minneapolis, daughter of Claude and Phoebe (Elmer) Sheffield. She married Henry C. Arnold on April 7, 1934, in Minneapolis; he died on Sept. 16, 1995.

She was a member of the Christian Science Church. She enjoyed working on various craft projects.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Juanita) Leask, of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Bruce Arnold, of Upland, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Sheffield, of Westminster, Calif.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Sheffield; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center.
