Bernice A. Kester

Bernice A. Kester, 89, of Route 2, died Tuesday, August 8, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born April 25, 1900, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Herman and Anna Pfadenhauer Binder. She married Irvin W. Kester December 20, 1922, in Latty. He died June 13, 1971.

She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Latty United Church of Christ and the Neighbor Hobby Club.

Surviving are one son, Wayne I. Kester, rural Burlington; one sister, Melba Cludy, Burlington; one brother, Horace H. Binder, Knoxville, Tennessee; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mrs. Kester will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel with the Reverend Melvin Miller officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park
