Viola Niebuhr

Viola L. Niebuhr, 85, 402 S. Centeral Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1991, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Feb. 13, 1906 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Philip Edward and Louisa Theresa Ort-Schwartz. She married George C. Niebuhr March 7, 1927 at the Latty Church. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Latty Church and later the Zion United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Niebuhr, Burlington; one daughter, Lorraine (James) Wirt Jr., Burlington; two sisters, Daisy Stewart and Clara Cook, both of Burlington; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mrs. Niebuhr was at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ with the Revs. Gary Chapman and Melvin Miller officiating. Burial was in Latty Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Zion United Church of Christ and the Latty Cemetery.
