MARION BENEDICT JR.

Marion Benedict Jr., 64, of Mt. Union, formerly of Mediapolis, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 in Mt. Union.

Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Burlington, he was the son of Marion and Grace McClintic Benedict. He married Edith Lucille Smith May 17, 1945 in Burlington.

He was employed with the Iowa Army Plant, Middletown, for 17 years. After retiring from the plant, he was an antique dealer in Burlinton for 19 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mediapolis.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Bruce Benedict Sr., Mt. Union; his mother, Burlington; one brother, James Benedict, Burlington; and three grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Benedict was at 1 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Carl Beyerhelm officiating. Burial was in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
