Ruby Brown

Ruby Viola Brown, 87, of Kingston, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Dec. 31, 1900, in Earl Park, Ind., she was the daughter of David and Mary Shultz Young. She married John W. Brown June 10, 1914, in Burlington. He died July 8, 1974.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church and a member and past president of the Kingston United Methodist Women.

Surviving are four daughters, Violet Harryman, Douds, Lucille Mellinger, Sperry, Dorothy Pierson, Kingston, and Hazel Harl, Waukegan, Ill.; four sons, Ralph Brown, Burlington, Willard Brown, Kingston, and Leo Brown and Lloyd Brown, both of Mediapolis; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis.

The service for Mrs. Brown will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Kingston, with the Rev. Harold Werley officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Kingston United Methodist Church.
