Rothel Austin Walker, 88, of Mediapolis, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 10, in Mediapolis.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 12, at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. Burial was in Kossuth Cemetery at Mediapolis.
He was born August 2, 1905 in Des Moines County, Iowa, the son of William J. and Lieuetta (Dean) Walker. He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1922 and Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree in horticulture in 1926.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, of Mediapolis; a daughter, Dianne Woodard, of Clear Lake; a son, William Walker, Mediapolis; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother. A memorial has been established for six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother. A memorial has been established for the Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston.
