Heather Mason was born April 16, 1970 in Burlington, Iowa to Frederick and Carolyn (Olson) Pohl. She passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

She attended Burlington Christian School and later graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1994 with a degree in Bible Theology.

Her long-term interest was linguistics, and she enjoyed interacting with people from other cultures.

She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1993, and battling this disease became the avenue through which she shared her faith in Jesus Christ.

This is her legacy with hundreds of friends, neighbors and health care providers.

Heather is survived by her husband, Matt Mason, whom she married in Chicago in 1994; her brother Nathan Pohl; sister Melissa Stauffer; nephew Owen Stauffer; and parents Frederick and Carolyn Pohl.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth.

Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 2330 Highway 120, Lake Geneva.

Burial will be later in the day at Cobblestone Cemetery.
