Sherry L. Marshall, 55, of Burlington, died at 9:44 AM Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born April 22, 1958, in Mount Pleasant, IA, she was the daughter of Richard W. and Carol "Pauline" McElhinney Metzger. On December 20, 1991, she married John Carl Marshall in Burlington.

Sherry worked at Hy-Vee for ten years. She was a 1976 graduate of Morning Sun High School. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. She enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR, especially Bobby Labonte, the Iowa Hawkeyes, flowers, and gardening. She loved her cats, Sebastian and Sinbad.

Survivors include her husband, John; two sons, Ben Marshall of Burlington, and Joe (Ashley) Marshall of Adel, IA; one daughter, Brandi (Ben) Hull of Fort Madison; two grandchildren, Joseph and Ozzie Marshall and one due on April 22, 2014; her parents, Richard and Pauline Metzger of Morning Sun, IA; two sisters, Pam Metzger of Morning Sun, IA and Deb (Scott) Siegworth of Yarmouth, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends. The memorial service for Mrs. Marshall will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Burlington Gym following the service. A memorial has been established.
