Richard Winton Metzger, 83, of Morning Sun, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington.
He was born October 31, 1937 in Marsh, Iowa, the son of Winton and Maxine Pogemiller Metzger. On February 5, 1958 he married Pauline McElhinney in Grandview. Richard was a 1955 graduate of Yarmouth High School and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, of Morning Sun; daughters, Pam Metzger of Morning Sun, and Deb (Scott) Siegworth of Yarmouth; son-in-law, John Marshall of Burlington; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Sherri) Metzger of Morning Sun; sister, Barb Warth of West Burlington; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Sherry Marshall.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in his name.
