Sperry W. Kaster, 84, Burlington Care Center, died there Monday night, March 20. (1978)
Born March 21, 1893, in Sperry, he was the son of William B, and Lula Kate Sperry Kaster. His mother's family founded the town of Sperry. He married Estella Fristedt Jan. 2, 1923, in Burlington; she died in 1959.
He was a farmer and insurance agent in Washington, a World War I Army veteran, past commander of American Legion and member of First Baptist church, both in Washington.
Surviving: Son, James, St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Mabel Kaster and Gladys Kaster, both Burlington: two granddaughters.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jones Funeral Home, Washington, Rev. Greg Berkey; Elm Grove cemetery.
