Robert E. McClaren, 83, of 1924 S. Main, died 2:50 p.m. Friday May 10, 1985, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center
He was born April 13, 1902, in Walker Settlement, Des Moines County; to John and Susan Reiter McClaren. He married Adel Fanny Remmers on Dec. 12, 1918, in Peoria, Ill.
He retired two years ago after farming in the Prairie Grove area for more than 30 years.
Surviving: one son, Loren Robert McClaren, Albia; two daughters, Beth (Betty) Demuth, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. and Phyllis Distelhorst, Burlington; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel Tuesday; the Rev. Mrs. Beth McClaren Demuth officiating; Memorial Park Cemetery.
