Mable Louise Schroeder Johnson, 93, of the New London Care Center, died at 12:56 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 1994, at the care center.

Born Nov. 21, 1900, in rural Danville, she was the daughter of C. W. and Ida Mae Westerbeck Schroeder. She married Robert H. Schmidt in 1921. She later married Gustav Henry Johnson on Nov. 23, 1933, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Nov. 4, 1969.

A graduate of Danville High School, Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and member of the Oak Street Baptist Church since 1933, the Women's Missionary Society and the Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a daughter, Lucille Van Syoc of New London; a son, Wayne Schmidt of Danville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a step-grandson; and several stepgreat-grandchildren; and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a stepdaughter, a stepson, two brothers and a stepgranddaughter.

There will be no visitation.

The funeral for Mrs. Johnson will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
