Burlington Man Dies At Age 57

CLINTON, Iowa - Melvin E. Richardson, 57, of Burlington, died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Cauthorn 147 N. 5th St., Clinton. The body was taken to Snell-Smith Funeral Home, Clinton, and transferred to the Prugh Funeral Home, Burlington where services will be Saturday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington.

Mr. Richardson was born at Ida Grove, Iowa. He married Dorothy Mapes in 1933. She preceded him in death. He married Ruth Christiansen in 1940.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. William Cauthorn, Clinton; Mrs. James Owen, St. John, Ms.; Miss Debra Richardson, Farmington, Mo.; sons, Dean, Clinton; Gene, Nevada; Gary, Burrien, Wash.; and Jerry, Burlington; and 12 grandchildren.
